Islamabad: Floods have wreaked havoc across the country, 1 thousand 576 people have died and 12 thousand 862 have been injured as a result of various accidents due to rains and flooded rails.
According to the details, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has released the statistics of damage caused by rains and floods across the country. During the last 24 hours, 7 more citizens died as a result of various accidents. The National Disaster Management Authority says that the total number of dead people has reached 1 thousand 576. During the last 24 hours, 1 person died in Balochistan and 6 people died in Sindh. Sindh suffered the most casualties due to floods.
NDMA says that 12 thousand 862 people were injured due to floods across the country. More than 2 million houses and 392 bridges were destroyed. More than 13 thousand km long roads were also affected due to flood. More than 10 lakh 17 thousand cattle were swept away in the flood channels and died.
On the other hand, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari presented the case of flood victims before the international community. The foreign minister says that we don’t need begging or aid, we want justice. The international community’s support is indispensable for flood-affected Pakistan. The foreign minister said in his recent statement that Pakistan needs 30 billion dollars to help the victims. So far, 3.5 million people have been displaced due to floods. Relief and rescue work is underway, followed by reconstruction.
