Riyadh: Saudi Arabia has brokered the release of 10 foreigners captured fighting for Ukraine during the conflict with Russia, the country’s foreign ministry said.
The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) quoted the ministry as saying the move was part of a prisoner exchange between Russia and Ukraine and in line with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud’s humanitarian commitment to the ongoing Russia-Ukraine crisis. Xinhua news agency reported.
The ministry said the 10 prisoners were Moroccan, Swedish, Croatian, British and US nationals who were received by the kingdom from Russia.
Saudi Arabia is facilitating procedures for their safe return to their countries.
