Two PSDP-funded power projects of GB namely “GB Regional Grid Phase 1” and “26 MW Shagartang HPP” were cleared and recommended for them at the Central Development Working Party (CDWP) forum chaired by Pakistan’s Minister of Planning and Special Initiatives. were given Approval from ECNEC.
Additional Chief Secretary and Secretary of W&P GB Division attended the meeting.
The Rs 17 billion Regional Grid Phase-I scheme will be completed in the next 3 years; the power distribution system of Gilgit, Ghizer, Hunza, Nagar and Astore will be interconnected through the regional grid project.
In this regard, Chief Secretary Gilgit Baltistan Muhiuddin Wani while talking to the media in Gilgit said that the scheme will also help GB to attract international investment in the power sector to tap the untapped power potential of GB.
