Akhilesh Yadav said, “caste census is not the demand of today, but the British era damaged it at some point and constitutional rights can be achieved only if the caste census is done properly.” Socialists believe that a caste census should be conducted. As soon as our government is formed, we will conduct a caste census.

Speaking to the media, Akhilesh Yadav said that neither the poor nor anyone else can hope for justice today. BJP is moving on the path of privatisation, today BJP is passing laws to take the government into private hands. He said that only socialist ideology can solve these problems. Meanwhile, he also claimed that the BJP would lose 80 seats in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Earlier, on January 20, the Supreme Court refused to hear various petitions challenging the Bihar government’s decision to conduct a caste census in Bihar. The court allowed the petitioners to approach the concerned High Court and take appropriate action as per law. During the hearing, a bench of Justice BR Gwaii and Justice Vikram Nath said that the petitions have no merit and therefore they are dismissed. The court ruled that the plaintiffs can approach the concerned High Court. Meanwhile, the caste census is underway in Bihar.
