Islamabad: The internal discord of the Islamabad High Court Bar has intensified over the Supreme Court advocates’ request to the Supreme Court to hold elections in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa within 90 days.
After disagreements between Supreme Court Chief Justice Shoaib Shaheen and Secretary Saad Rajput, the executive committee decided in favor of the president and the petition. The Bar Secretary announced that he was not related to the request of the Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court.
According to the press release of the joint secretary of the advocate Suhail Rasheed, the judgment states that President Shoaib Shaheen has appealed to the Supreme Court on behalf of the Bar Association of the Supreme Court, a constitutional petition has been submitted for the supremacy of the Constitution. and the rule of law.
The resolution states that the executive committee appreciates the efforts of President Bar Shoaib Shahin for the supremacy of the constitution and repeats its decision in favor of the constitutional appeal.
It should be mentioned that Chief Justice Bar Shoaib Shaheen had appealed to the Supreme Court two days ago on behalf of the Bar, in which the Supreme Court was requested to hold the elections in the states of Punjab and KP within 90 days. A notice of contempt of the petition was issued by the Clerk of the Supreme Court.
