Leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf Asad Umar and Shah Mehmood Qureshi start Jail Bharu movement by arresting them.

Today, Wednesday, February 22, “Chail Bharu Movement” will start from Lahore against PTI’s economic instability, persecution of party leaders and workers.

In the first phase, 200 workers, including the central leader of the party, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Asad Umar, former governor of Punjab Umar Sarfraz Cheema, senator Walid Iqbal, former minister of the province Murad Ras will be arrested.

According to the PTI spokesperson, PTI leaders and workers will stage a dharna at Mall Road Charing Cross if the government refuses to arrest them.

On the other hand, the caretaker government of Punjab has decided on a strategy related to the Jail Bharu Movement, under which Section 144 has been imposed in the provincial capital for seven days, with protests and sit-ins banned on major highways. According to sources, the Punjab government has mobilized all law enforcement agencies.

Yesterday, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi, in which the Chief Secretary and Inspector General of Police (IG) and other officials participated.

In the meeting, PTI Jail Bharu movement was consulted and it was decided that PTI workers and leaders will be jailed if they violate the law. The government has instructed not to arrest the workers who have volunteered.

The interim government has also instructed the authorities of Mianwali and Dara Ghazi Khan prisons to be vigilant and ensure law and order situation at any cost.

It may be recalled that PTI Chairman and former Prime Minister Imran Khan announced the launch of the Jail Bharu movement from February 22, Wednesday, in his message through a video link on February 17. Imran Khan said that the government is threatening to put us in prisons. When we start the movement to fill the prisons, they will have less space in the prisons.
