New Delhi: Meta, the parent company of social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, has announced a premium verification service. Now you have to pay for a verified account, i.e. the blue sign on Facebook and Instagram as well. It is priced at $11.99 for web and $14.99 for iOS. This week the service will launch in Australia and New Zealand for the first time. This service will soon be launched in other countries as well.

This was announced by the CEO of the company, Mark Zuckerberg. Zuckerberg said that starting this week we will launch Meta-verified. This is a subscription service through which you can check your account. Users can verify their account with their official ID. Creators, public figures, celebrities, companies and brand pages are given a blue badge after Facebook verification.

It should be noted that Twitter previously offered a paid subscription service called Twitter Blue. Twitter users in India have to spend 900 rupees for each mobile phone for the blue tick on their accounts. The company has priced Twitter Blue at Rs 650 for web and Rs 900 for mobile app users.

Twitter said that after verification, BlueTick users with verified phone numbers will be issued BlueTick. The platform has also provided an annual plan for web users. For this users have to pay 6800 rupees.
