ECP finalizes draft code of conduct for general electionsTAZAA News

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Friday decided to consult political parties on the draft final code of conduct for the upcoming general elections in the country.

According to the details, the draft of the code of conduct for the next general elections in the country has been completed and the EKP has invited the heads of 21 political parties of the country on February 2 for consultation and getting their recommendations.

CMI Sikandar Sultan Raja will preside over a meeting on February 2 at 2:00 PM for which political parties including Pakistan People’s Party, Tehreek-e-Insaf, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid, Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan, have been invited. Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan, Hizb Milli Awami Party, Hizb Milli Balochistan, Awami Muslim League, Hizb Jamkhuri Watan, Jamaat Ulema Islam, Jamaat Islami, PKMAP Pashtunhwa, Rahi Haq, Pakistan Muslim League-Functional and others.

Earlier, the Election Commission of Pakistan had written to the governors of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) regarding the holding of elections in both provinces.

In its letters to the governors of Punjab and KPO, the ECP has suggested the dates for the elections in both the provinces. ECP has advised Governor Baligh Ur Rehman to hold elections in Punjab from April 9 to 13.

Similarly, according to the ECP’s letter, the election authority has advised the governor of KPR to hold elections in the province from April 15 to 17.
