PARIS (UrduPoint News / Sputnik – February 09, 2023) Germany will provide military assistance to Ukraine as long as it is needed, Chancellor Olaf Scholz said during a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Paris.
“We support Ukraine, we have provided it with financial, humanitarian and military aid, with the help of heavy artillery, air defense, and recently with tanks. We will continue to do this as long as it is necessary,” said Scholz in the flow of one sitting. Joint press statement issued on the Elysée Palace Twitter page.
In turn, Zelensky asked Macron and Scholes to provide Ukraine with aircraft and heavy weapons as soon as possible.
Leaders will continue talks during a closed-door dinner.
The meeting will be held at the Elysee Palace on the eve of the summit of the European Union leaders in Brussels on Thursday.
