Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif said on Monday that Imran Khan is gradually heading towards complete political failure as all his decisions are considered wrong and wrong.
Speaking at a press conference here, the minister responded to the protest and criticism of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf on the appointment of Muhsin Raza Naqvi as interim prime minister of Punjab and the cancellation of their resignation from the national assembly.
In the introduction to his media briefing, Asif congratulated the interim prime minister for assuming his new responsibilities. He wished that free and fair elections would be held in Punjab under his leadership.
He also welcomed the decision of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) as per the law and said that the entire process was done according to the fundamental law.
The minister explained that the candidates nominated by PTI and others did not have proper training as one was a civil servant and the other was a dual citizen. “Their investigation was not good for these candidates. Therefore, they had to face humiliation in this case,” he added.
Moreover, the government’s candidates included a former civil servant and a media personality, he said, adding, “PTI also gave the name of a respected official who himself apologized for doing this job. Therefore, PTI’s objection to Naqvi’s appointment is a fake outcry.”
