A successful operation in Saudi Arabia separated the babies

Riyadh (Daily Pakistan Online) A team of surgeons in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, successfully separated conjoined twins from Yemen.

According to the Saudi news agency, Salman and Abdullah were born with the abdomen and trunk joined together, one bladder and one colon. Following the instructions of King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, they were separated at the King Abdullah Specialist Children’s Hospital in Riyadh. It was funded by the King Salman Center for Humanitarian Aid and Relief (KS Relief).

A team of thirty-five doctors, specialists and nurses performed the delicate surgery in six stages during the eight-hour operation. The parents of the twins expressed their gratitude to the authorities and the medical team in Saudi Arabia for helping their sons and for the warm hospitality provided by everyone involved in the boys’ care.

KS Relief’s conjoined twin program has so far sponsored 55 separation operations for children from 23 countries. The Kingdom covers all costs of treatment and care, transportation and accommodation for patients and their families.
