The local court of Islamabad reserved its decision on the request for physical arrest of Tehree Insaf leader Fawad Chaudhry regarding the threat to the Election Commission.
The duty judge, Naveed Khan, reserved his decision after hearing the evidence. The investigator requested that the accused be detained for 8 days.
Earlier, the Lahore High Court rejected Fawad Chaudhry’s reinstatement plea.
A hearing was held in the Lahore High Court on the petition filed against the arrest of PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry.
During the hearing, IG Punjab submitted the WhatsApp agreement for the arrest of Fawad Chaudhry before the court.
The Lahore High Court rejected Fawad Chaudhry’s plea for reinstatement.
The Supreme Court has declared that the FIR against Fawad Chaudhry has been registered in Islamabad, so the Islamabad High Court has jurisdiction to dismiss the FIR.

Justice Tariq Saleem Shaikh, a prominent judge of the Lahore High Court, is hearing a petition against the arrest of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf leader Fawad Chaudhry.
Background of the issue
Fawad Chaudhry was arrested from his home in Lahore in the early hours of Wednesday and later sent to judicial custody by a subordinate court.
A petition was filed in the Lahore High Court on Wednesday on behalf of Fawad Chaudhry’s nephew Nabeel Shehzad, alleging that legal procedures were not followed in Fawad Chaudhry’s arrest. When detained against the law, the court must immediately issue an order for their release.
The court declared the petition admissible and fixed it for hearing today and at the same time, the court directed Fawad Chaudhry to appear at 1:30 pm.
When the hearing of the case began on schedule, Additional Advocate General Punjab said that the police had gone to Islamabad with Fawad Chaudhry.
Justice Tariq Salim Shaikh asked that I should execute my order, wherever Foud Chaudhry is, he should be produced in court immediately, the court adjourned the case till 3 pm.
