Pervez Musharraf, the former president, died at the age of 79 in a hospital in Dubai, he was ill for a long time, let’s take a look at his life.

Pervez Musharraf was born in New Delhi in 1943 and after the establishment of Pakistan in 1947, he emigrated from India to Karachi with his parents.

Parviz Musharraf graduated from the 29th PMA long-term course in 1964, joined the 61st SP unit of the artillery regiment, and later took command of the same unit.

Retired Army Chief Pervez Musharraf graduated from the Army Command and Staff College, Quetta and studied at the Royal College of Defense Studies, London. He was part of the artillery, infantry and SSG units in the Pakistan Army.

Pervez Musharraf also participated in the Indo-Pakistani wars in 1965 and 1971. He commanded 25 Brigade, 41 Division and was also DG Military Operations.

In October 1998, Nawaz Sharif, the prime minister at that time, appointed Pervez Musharraf as the head of the army. He was the 13th Chief of the Pakistan Army and Corps Commander Mangala at the time of his appointment and under his leadership the Pakistan Army also fought the Kargil War against India.

On October 12, 1999, Pervez Musharraf dismissed Nawaz Sharif’s government and became the chief executive. As a result of the referendum on June 20, 2001, he assumed the position of the country’s president and worked in this position until August 18, 2008.
