KARACHI: (Web Desk) for its efforts to ensure greater gender equality, women’s empowerment and education on the platform “LRPO Empowering The Salon Community” at an event in Paris.
Received the prestigious GEEIS-SDG award from the Arborus Foundation.
Introduced in 2010 at the European Economic and Social Council in Brussels, the GEEIS label evaluates parent companies and their subsidiaries with an active approach to gender equality and identifies those that have implemented effective gender equality policy management tools.
The Cup focuses on gender equality as a driving force for achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, specifically SDG5) on equality between women and men.
L’Oréal Pakistan has been awarded by the L’Oréal Pakistan Professional Academy for its innovative empowerment project, which has played a dynamic role in the evolution of the local salon industry over the past 13 years.
By partnering with salons that use L’Oréal Professional products, salon staff benefit from professional training provided by L’Oréal Professional Hair Professionals. The program focuses specifically on the training and development of these women. They are the ones who want to become have hair stylists, however, do not have access to such education themselves.
By providing access to education and training, L’Oréal Professional Academy Pakistan has succeeded in making 7,500 women financially independent, who are now able to support themselves and their families.
Commenting on the award, L’Oréal Global Head of DE&I Group Margaret Johnson Clarke said, “The L’Oréal Professional Products Academy Pakistan is an amazing initiative that embodies the expertise that has been a hallmark of our business since its inception.
