Islamabad: In a major development on the Islamabad High Court lawyer’s plea challenging the NAB Amendment Act, the court ordered a larger bench to hear all NAB cases pending before the Islamabad High Court after the amendment.
According to Express News, a hearing was held before a division bench comprising Justice Amir Farooq and Justice Taman Rifat Imtiaz on the petitions related to the future of cases after the NAB reforms. Additional Attorney General Manwar Iqbal Dogal, Sardar Muzaffar, Deputy Public Prosecutor NAB, Muhammad Rafi and Yasir Rathore appeared in the court.
Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Amir Farooq said that the consequences of the NAB amendment should be seen as to which case will go to which court or end up and all these NAB cases should be consolidated. By making a bigger seat, we listen.
The Chief Justice directed the court registry to consolidate all the cases and place them before a larger bench.
