Vedanta-Foxconn project investment shifted to Gujarat due to political pressure, 2 lakh jobs lost. As a result of this, the public is displeased and the people will miscalculate in the elections. State Youth President Mehboob Sheikh warned that the state government should bring new projects in Maharashtra otherwise the state government will not be allowed to sit back.

The announcements rocked the area

A fierce protest was held at Nashik Divisional Commissioner’s office on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Nationalist Youth Congress President Mehboob Sheikh to protest against the move of Vedanta-Foxconn project to Gujarat. A statement was given to Deputy Commissioner Ramesh Kale. Slogans such as “Gujarat is the firecracker of industry, Maharashtra is the bowl of unemployment”, “Shinde eats Maharashtra’s bread, Modi-Shah’s job is done”, “Gujarat starves, Maharashtra starves”.

Jobs lost in Maharashtra as Vedanta project moved to Gujarat

Speaking on the occasion, Sheikh said, Vedanta-Foxconn Group’s project with an investment of around two lakh crore rupees was shifted to Gujarat. This resulted in the loss of about 1.54 lakh rightful employment in Maharashtra. Many projects were coming up in the state during the Mahavikas Aghadi government. Vedanta Company had inspected Maharashtra, Karnataka, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh. After that Maharashtra was finalized after considering all the conditions. Even the senior team of Vedanta had suggested Talegaon Dabhade as the right place. However, the project was shifted to Gujarat.
