Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan has thanked his fans for their love and the “revival” of Indian cinema after the success of his new film “Patan”. Pathan’s success at the box office comes after a long period of disappointing performances from Bollywood films.

Taran Adarsh, an economic analyst, tweeted that “Pathan” is the highest-grossing Hindi film ever on its first and second day, collecting $30 million in its first five days. The business is more than five hundred million. Pathan is presented by Yash Raj Films, which sold more than $13.7 million international tickets in its first three days of release.

As of Monday alone, Pathan had collected $1.9 million overseas and the film has collected a total of $27.50 million outside India so far, according to a report by Indian website Box Office India. The report also predicts that Pathan will soon break the record of Aamir Khan’s Dangal to become the highest grossing Indian film worldwide. Dangal did a worldwide business of 1000 crores. It was the first Bollywood film to cross the $1000 billion mark.

Speaking to the media on Monday about the film’s success, Shah Rukh said he is grateful to his fans for supporting the film despite the efforts of some elements to prevent Pathan’s “freedom”. “I just want to say that (we’re) getting so much love from everywhere that we can’t say thank you enough,” she said.

After Pathan’s success, videos on social media websites showed fans cheering and dancing during the film. On Pathan’s success, Akshiv Rathi, owner of a cinema chain in India, told AFP that he felt Pathan’s “unprecedented” success shows where the Bollywood industry is at.

“We’re back to the old way of celebrating movies in theaters while watching movies as a community,” he said. Pathan saw Shahrukh Khan in the lead role after four years and fans were eagerly waiting for its release.

“Pathan” is also one of several Indian films that have faced fierce opposition from right-wing Hindu parties in recent months. Many of these films have Muslim actors in them.

In the same way, Hindu extremist organizations also demanded the boycott of the Pathans. This demand was made by them based on the objection that Deepika Padukone is wearing a saffron colored bikini in the film, which is also associated with Hinduism.
