According to the report of 24NewsHD TV channel, a group of senior leaders of Pakistan, who arrived at the parliament to invite the president Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, were arrested at the gate of the parliament meeting because they were not allowed to meet with the head of this house.

The PTI group included: Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Fawad Chaudhry, Asad Qaisar, Shibli Faroz and others.

Senior PTI leaders had to leave the Parliament House as Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf was not present in the house.

The group is now returning to Lahore to meet PTI Chairman Imran Khan at Zaman Park.

The PTI group wanted to meet the Speaker of the National Assembly to submit a request to withdraw his resignation (which the Speaker had earlier accepted).

The leadership of PTI decided to withdraw its resignation after the parliamentary meeting of the party today in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House.

About 76 PTI members of the National Assembly participated in the parliamentary meeting.

The meeting decided that after meeting the Speaker of the National Assembly, the PTI MNAs would request him to withdraw his resignation. The speaker is also requested not to accept further resignations of PTI MPs.

If the speaker does not publicly accept the resignations, then he will be asked to return the two positions of the assembly, i.e. the leader of the opposition and the chairman of the public account committee, to the PTI, the meeting further decided.

Then the participants of the conclave decided to go to the National Assembly, meet with the speaker and inform about the decision of PTI.

However, PTI’s move slowed down a bit as earlier in the day the Speaker had already accepted the resignations of 35 more PTI MNAs, taking the total number of resignations of the party legislators to 80.

Speaking to 24NewsHD, PTI leader Asad Qaiser confirmed that the party may bring home its opposition leader and PAC chairman.

Asad Kaisar said that his party has reconsidered its decision and now wants to return to the parliament. He said that the PTI delegation came to the parliament, met with the president and informed him about their decision.

PTI leaders emphasize the need to hold early general elections

Later, PTI leaders spoke to reporters in front of the parliament building and once again emphasized the need to hold early elections in the country.

Criticizing the acceptance of the resignations, Asad Qaisar said that Raja Pervaiz Ashraf called them to his office and told them that unless he talks to the Nationalities separately, the resignations will not be accepted.

Fawad Chaudhry slammed the NA president’s decision and asked about party MLAs who were in touch with him, according to Raja Pervaiz Ashraf.

Fawad said that 81 resignations have been accepted and they are demanding the date of general elections. He held the current government responsible for the political and economic crisis prevailing in the country.

On his part, Asad Umar said that the decision of the NA Speaker is proof that he is not the protector of the house, adding that the MNAs went to the assembly only because all the staff, including the Speaker, Deputy Speaker, Secretary and Deputy The secretary is not available.

Shah Mahmud Qureshi said that the speaker of NA first said that he could not accept resignations collectively. “We decided to come to the meeting and he postponed it and when we came to the meeting, he accepted the resignation of 35 other people,” he added.

The former foreign minister demanded that the remaining resignations be accepted.
