(Monitoring Desk) Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s request for date of elections in Punjab was approved for review, Lahore High Court issued a written order.
The 5-page written order issued by the Lahore High Court also mentioned issuing separate notices to the Attorney General and Solicitor General of Punjab for assistance regarding the date of Punjab Assembly elections.
Lahore High Court Judge Jawad Hasan issued a five-page written order stating that the PTI’s petition regarding the date of the Punjab Assembly elections will be accepted for hearing.
In a written order, the court said that the Punjab governor and the Election Commission should submit a report and reply to the clause by February 3. In this case, the court will interpret articles 105, 112, 218, 219 and 5.
The court issued separate notices to the Attorney General and Advocate General of Punjab for assistance in constitutional interpretation.
According to the lawyer of Tehreek-e-Insaf, the Election Commission wrote a letter to the governor regarding the date of the Punjab Assembly elections, but the governor did not respond.
According to the written order of the Lahore High Court, further action will be taken on the petition of PTI on February 3.
