Takli Haji, Leading News Service: Pune Zilla Parishad Retired Chief Executive Officer Prabhakar Gawde and President’s Medal Winner Sub-Divisional Police Officer Mahadev Gawde were robbed by thieves in their locked house at Takli Haji (Shirur). Thieves have stolen approximately 2 lakh 65 thousand in the form of jewelery and cash by prying the door locks of these officials.
Prabhakar Gawde was staying at a farm house while Mahadev Gawde was staying in Pune. On Monday (19th) night, there was a burglary at his house. On Tuesday (20th) at around 6.30 am, Supriya Amol Gawde, who lives next door, told Prabhakar Gawde over the phone that your house is open and someone has broken the door. When they went home, they found the door hinge broken and locked. They noticed that the cupboard locker was broken and gold ornaments and cash were stolen from it. Also, a silver Ganesha idol was stolen from the house of Mahadev Gawde and two of his table fans were seen stolen in the house of Prabhakar Gawde.
Prabhakar Gawde has given a complaint to the police that approximately 2 lakh 65 thousand rupees including 5 tola gold ornaments, a silver idol and cash were stolen from the house of both. Assistant Police Inspector Amol Panhalkar, Police Naik Dhananjay Theurkar, Police Constable Vishal Palve, Police Constable Anil Agalave have visited the spot and started investigation. Assistant Inspector of Police Amol Panhalkar has appealed that able-bodied citizens should install CCTV cameras at their homes to prevent thieves.
