Provincial police have released the identity of the driver who was killed in a collision with a dump truck Wednesday in Tay Township.

Joey Baker, 26, of Midland, died in the crash on Highway 12, according to police.

A GoFundMe campaign was created to help the family states that Baker and his partner welcomed a child over the summer.

A 26-year-old man was driving a pickup truck when he collided with a dump truck between Gratrix and Fraser roads, police said.

The crash forced the dump truck to flip onto its side and dislodge the gravel it was hauling.

The dump lorry driver was treated for minor injuries.

Police cordoned off the area for more than 12 hours for investigation.

The cause of the accident has not been disclosed.

Investigators ask witnesses or anyone with dash cam video of the fatal incident to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or by email.
