KARACHI: (Web Desk) The Sindh High Court has ordered the implementation of the order on payment of minimum salary of sanitation workers 25 thousand and directed to submit reports to various departments.
According to the details, the Sindh High Court heard the case of fixing the minimum monthly salary of sanitation workers at Rs 25,000.
In a petition sent to the court, it has been stated that in the Sindh Solid Waste Management Authority, sanitation workers are paid Rs 17,000, paying them less than Rs 25,000 is a violation of fundamental rights.
The lawyer told the court that the Sindh government has fixed the salary of the workers at 25 thousand rupees on July 7, 2022.
The court ordered the implementation of the order on the payment of a minimum salary of 25 thousand rupees to the workers, the court said that the minimum salary of sanitary workers in the region should be provided at 25 thousand rupees.
The court also ordered the labor department to consider the reports by inviting reports from various departments, while the Sindh government was directed to consider the petitioners’ submissions.
Further consideration of the application was postponed until March 2.
