Islamabad: The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) said the total death toll in Pakistan due to the devastating floods has risen to 1,559, with 12,850 injured.
In the past 24 hours, 15 new deaths were reported, all in the worst-hit Sindh province, Xinhua news agency reported, citing the NDMA.
A child and three women were among the victims.
Flash floods caused by heavy monsoon rains since mid-June have also destroyed a total of 1,979,485 houses, while the latest NDMA figures estimate that 973,632 cattle have died in the rains across the country.
It said that 12,716 kilometers of roads and 374 bridges were damaged.
Rescue and relief operations are ongoing in the affected areas by NDMA, other government agencies, volunteers and NGOs.
