The government spends 10 billion rupees for the development of the countryside in the capital city of Islamabad.

This was stated in Islamabad’s President’s meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif today.

It was informed that these funds will be spent on various projects including solid waste management, sewerage system and construction and maintenance of roads and public transport schemes in the federal capital.

During his speech, the Prime Minister instructed the relevant authorities to provide the best conditions for the residents of the federal capital. He said that development works should continue round the clock. He also asked to provide third-party verification of all projects.

The Chief Minister also directed to complete the Bhara Kahu circuit as soon as possible.

He directed to address parking issues in Islamabad and speed up public transport projects in the city. He also directed the acceleration of CDA projects for overseas Pakistanis. He said that overseas Pakistanis should be given all facilities to invest in Pakistan.

The Prime Minister has established an investigation committee to accelerate the pace of work on development projects in Islamabad and to complete government projects on a priority basis. He also sought a report from the CDA on the introduction of an integrated solid waste management system in Islamabad.

The meeting detailed the ongoing projects of Bhara Kahu Roundabout, 7th Avenue Roundabout, Margalla Avenue, 11th Avenue, IJP Road, Islamabad Expressway and Parking Plaza. It was reported that the projects of the 7th crossing and Margalla Avenue have already been completed. The IJP road widening project will be completed by 23rd of next month.

Besides, the first phase of 11th Avenue and Islamabad Expressway will be completed by June this year, while the second phase of Parking Plaza Blue Area and Expressway will be completed by the end of this year.

It was also mentioned in the meeting that a national international standard bus terminal and three satellite terminals will be built by CDA in cooperation with the private sector. In addition, within ninety days, 13 bus feeder routes have been launched, and four feeder routes are already active.

It was informed at the meeting that CDA will build parking plazas in I-8, G-9, F-8 and F-10 sections of the city.
