Islamabad: Electricity is likely to increase in cost for all consumers in the country, except Karachi, due to monthly fuel price revision.
The central power procurement agency has submitted a request to Nepra to increase the price of electricity by Rs 1.17 per unit.
CPPA has submitted a monthly request for fuel regulation to Nepra, Nepra will hear CPPA’s request on February 28. The application of the Central Power Procurement Agency does not apply to energy consumers
Apart from this, K Electric has also submitted an application to the National Electricity Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) for a monthly fuel adjustment and another for a quarterly adjustment.
In a request for monthly fuel regulation submitted to Nepra, the power has been asked to increase the price of electricity by Rs 2.69 per unit for January.
In its quarterly adjustment application, K Electric has asked to reduce its electricity price by Rs 7.36 per unit for October-December.
