Islamabad: The state president announced the holding of provincial assembly elections in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on April 9 under Section 57A of the Election Act, 2017 and asked the Election Commission to implement the instructions. President Dr. Arif Alvi wrote a letter in this regard to the election commission, which became public. The President officially informed the Election Commission about the election day. In this letter, the President of the state said that the Election Commission should publish the election program according to Article 57-2 of the Basic Law. Therefore, according to Article 57-1, there is no obstacle to exercise the powers of the President.
