New Delhi: The BBC’s India office is being raided for airing a documentary against Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

According to the Indian media, the tax officials also conducted operations on the second day in the offices of the British broadcasting organization BBC, and search operations were conducted throughout the night in the offices of the BBC located in Delhi and Mumbai.

According to Indian media, following the raids by the tax authorities, the BBC issued some instructions to its staff via email, instructing them to work from home and warning employees not to disclose their personal income.

The BBC said in an email that workers may be asked about their salaries and must cooperate fully with authorities, but refrain from revealing details of personal income.

On the other hand, the Indian opposition parties have strongly condemned these actions of the Modi government, while America says that it is aware of all these actions, but it cannot immediately come to a conclusion.

State Department spokesman Ned Price said the US supports a free press around the world.

In addition, the British government has not given any official response to the actions of the Indian government.
