The Sessions Court approved the two-day physical arrest of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf leader Fawad Chaudhry, who was arrested in the case of threatening the Election Commission of Pakistan.

The police produced PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry before the Sessions Court on the orders of the Judicial Magistrate Waqos Ahmed Raja, where the court reserved its decision to physically arrest him.

Judicial Magistrate Waqos Ahmed Raja, passing a safe sentence, gave Fawad Chowdhury two days of physical custody and ordered the PTI leader to be produced in court on Monday.

Earlier, Sessions Court Judge Tahir Mahmood had delivered a safe verdict, declaring the PTI leader’s judicial remand order null and void and directing Fawad Chowdhury to be produced again in the magistrate’s court.

On January 28, the Islamabad Police appealed to the Sessions Court against the order of the Judicial Magistrate against the denial of physical custody by the ECP counsel. In this appeal, the decision of Judge Waqos Ahmed Raja is challenged.

The petition sought further physical custody of Fawad Chaudhry by setting aside the judge’s order.

The Sessions Court took notice of the police application.

It is worth noting that yesterday, January 27, the prosecutor rejected Fawad Chaudhry’s request for physical arrest and ordered him to be transferred to Adiala prison for 14 days.
