The High Court has issued important orders regarding the disposal of waste lands. It has been clarified that the committees should not hold any meetings till further orders. On the other hand, the state government has filed a counter in relation to the petition filed challenging JV 140. Justice B. Vijay Sen Reddy’s bench found that a committee was formed with district ministers, MLAs, MPs, and MLCs. The state government is advised to work in accordance with the constitution. The next hearing was adjourned to October 21.
Objections are being expressed to political leaders in the committees that are formed to confirm the rights over the waste lands. Tejawat Shankar L. of Bhadradri Kothagudem district said that it is unconstitutional. Anji and Meekya Naik filed a lunch motion in the High Court. The counsel for the petitioners brought to the notice of the court that the government orders are contrary to the orders of the Supreme Court and the High Court. An interim order was sought to stay the implementation of the Jivo.
